Southampton New York’s top-rated B&B seeks live-in innkeeping couple to run our high-end five-guest room Bed &Breakfast, located ½ a mile from the center of Southampton village and 2 miles from the beachfront.  Relaxed, comfortable surroundings with fantastic guest services are what we need you to provide April 1 through September 30, 2019.

 

We are looking for a couple with effortless, enthusiastic hospitality for the front desk operations which include a genuine love of people. We want a couple who will always roll-up their sleeves to do what’s needed to ensure our guest’s happiness from start to finish and maintain the functionality and aesthetics of the B&B. One of you should be able to lift a 50lb suitcase up and down 13 stairs so you will need to be fit and able to perform minor maintenance duties. We need you to consider yourselves interesting and fun to be with, someone who can leave politics/religion/prejudice at the door, and who can get along with everyone and multitask at the same time.

 

On the backstage side we need great energy for the daily production of gourmet breakfasts for up to 12 guests including paying attention to special dietary requirements, menu planning and execution to high standards. Diligence, detail-orientation, good attitude and a keen sense of humor are required, along with an understanding that teamwork is everything and no one is too good for any task. Maintaining timely statements and budgets using QuickBooks, producing website specials and packages, dealing with OTAs (online travel agents), and operating an easy PC system, buying and maintaining adequate supply levels always are just some of the backend daily tasks. 

 

Other part time staff are employed but you will need to oversee all garden upkeep and oversee housekeeping staff and provide hands-on help when needed. Possession of clean USA drivers’ licenses, complete fluency in the English language and being non-smoking and drug free are essential prerequisites.

 

This position needs a couple who are experienced in some form of hospitality or be willing to learn from the experienced owners of the B&B. One month of onsite training will be given if needed although experience is preferred but if you are the right match, we are happy to train and help you both in a new career path.

 

In exchange for these wonderful skills, we offer a good salary plus a 6-month completion/rewards bonus based on reviews for the period of your tenure along with a spacious 1 bedroom suite with a steam shower bathroom and a private patio with a BBQ. Food, utilities and transportation are all included.

Chris is English and was a Butler/Estate manager for 18 years so hospitality is in his blood and he is very handy around the house for minor repairs and maintenance tasks. Kim is a Southern California native who loves to make good food look and taste great, loves meeting new people and providing beautiful settings for her guests. They have been married for 30 years and are looking to semi-retire back to their other home in CA, hence needing a couple to run the business for the summer.
