Couple needed to help owners run the day to day operations of an Idaho Backcountry Guest Ranch. We offer a beautiful guest ranch with lodging, meals, jet boat tours, fishing, hunting, backcountry wedding venue and family reunions in the Idaho Backcountry Wilderness. Very remote location. Only accessible by jet boat, airplane, or rugged backcountry 4X4 road.
Year round position. Position starts 2/15/15. Skills needed are: management, cooking, cleaning, mechanical, organizational, preferably stock (horses/mules) experiance but not a must, people/social skills, patience in working with employees.
Couple needed to help with:
- Ranch Maintenance (greasing Pelton wheel, fixing fence, water lines, hydro, septic issues, general building and equipment maintenance)
- Routine maintenance on ATVs, tractor, trailers, sprayers, lawnmower
- keeping track of maintenance logs and fuel/propane usage logs
- maintain on-going list of town products needed (shop supplies, oil, fuel, etc.)
- overseeing annual ranch maintenance projects such as staining buildings and fences, (coordinating and insuring projects get completed by hired hands)
- filing propane tanks and keeping track of propane logs
- Shop organization
- Overseeing winterization of buildings ad equipment annually
- meal planning
- grocery/inventory lists
- occasional cooking & baking (During slower season) - will have hired cook during busy and peak season
- housekeeping and overseeing housekeepers/maids,
- overseeing cleanliness of ranch, rooms, and lodge,
- greeting guests,
- helping to manage employees (1-4 employees depending on time of year)
- weeding and watering flower beds
Must have a "It's not over until its over" attitude! Days are long but rewarding. Days that we have guests at ranch are full however, days that we don't there is down time. Must help with making sure all jobs are taken care of (during busy and peak season will have have a maid and cook.) Help to oversee full time maintenance person. During hunting season, will help owner with packing and setting wilderness hunting camps as well as trail clearing.
Starting pay is $3,000/per couple/month. Retirement after 6 months of employment. Monthly bonus potential based on monthly employee evaluations during busy seasons. Extended time out of ranch can be negotiated during certain times of year (pay will change) and expect to work 5-6 days/week with 1 day off. 4 weeks on and 4-6 days out of ranch . Annual raise will be given if returning for next season. Housing and meals will be provided (Tax free). Onsite home will be provided with private bathroom and utilities. Jet boat transportation in and out of ranch will be provided. February - May is slower season, June - August is busy guest ranch summer season, and September - November 20th is Peak Season with hunting and fishing.
Must be able to get along with all employees and owners - have a hard work ethic and HONEST. No drugs or smoking allowed. No Children or pets Please. Must be willing to follow directions, not be afraid of ingenuity and problem solving!
Power is supplied by hydro and generator.
