First, this is a 10 month position per year. Approximately 1 Apr through 31 Jan. This one bedroom must be made available for the very busy winter season. We will assist anyone who wants to continue with us the following year as much as we can to find a housing solution during the two winter months.
We are looking for an assistant motel management team to live on-site and be one of two management teams ensuring our motel remains the little gem that it is. We would like a team that provides 24 hour check-in and walk-in front desk functions, that can provide housekeeping support (housekeeping hours and pay are not included in this job description and are paid separately), light maintenance, pool maintenance, and some light maintenance projects.
There will be two teams to manage the motel; this posting is for Team 2. The allure of running a small motel is not as it may seem. There are many responsibilities and you are required to be in control of the property the entire time you are on duty. Because we know the job is long and hard we want two teams. This will allow more time off, less burn out, and more attention to detail and customer satisfaction.
This position is for a team that can work together and share responsibilities. This seems to better tackle the day and keep all the tasks manageable and enjoyable. The team should bring the following skills to the job:

Office
- Know MS-Excel, MS-Word, MS-Publisher
- Computer typing and basic skills – i.e. file management
- Comfortable around office and paperwork (attention to detail)
- Great people skills
- Great phone skills
- Happy and Fun attitude towards life in general

Pool
- Chemistry test and maintenance
- Vacuuming
- Backwash

Light Maintenance
- Basic handyman skills – use tools
- Fix it right, fix it neat, fix it once
- There may be small projects from time to time – i.e. fence repair, touch up paint, picture hanging, etc.
- A good handyman may also help with our yearly remodeling efforts and paid separately

Grounds
- Using mower, weed trimmer and blower
- Light tree/bush trimming

Housekeeping
- This is not part of this advertised position’s pay, but we do want a team to supply housekeeping function; paid separately
- Provide laundry functions; this allows us to maintain strict control over our linen and towel quality
- Room inspections – manage quality control over cleanliness, carpet cleaning, etc. This allows us to maintain very high cleanliness standards.
- Available for room cleaning if housekeepers are not available or on light days to allow housekeepers time off
As you can see we are looking for a well rounded team.

- Walk grounds periodically for cleanliness

- Disabled Remote Controls
- Exchange broken TVs
- Misc small easy repairs
