WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
Big Creek Lodge recently rose again in the breathtaking backcountry of Idaho after a devastating fire. Both old school and all new. It combines the charm of a classic mountain retreat with the appeal of modern amenities. Owned and operated by the Idaho Aviation Foundation, this non-profit public resource provides an opportunity for guests to explore Idaho’s beautiful backcountry. Big Creek Lodge opens for backcountry fly in’s May 26th, open to motorized vehicles starting in July and continues through the first week of October. Amenities are simple: we generate our own electricity via hydro, we have slow but working Wi-Fi, the nearest town of 3,000 is more than a 3-hour drive away...but the lodge's huge fireplace and spruce log construction welcomes those who truly want to disconnect. Visitors are thrilled to visit the 2.3 million acre Wilderness a stone's throw away, yet enjoy the hospitality and safety Big Creek Lodge provides to those who cannot or do not wish to camp. The rebuilt Big Creek Lodge has 4comfortable rooms for rent to the public, and will normally accommodate 10-12 people with up to 22 possible via a backcountry yurt and small cabin nearby. It is known as a special 'fly in' breakfast spot, so weekends can be busy in the morning with slower times mid-week. The Assistant Caretaker will help run the lodge under the direction of an onsite Manager while working cooperatively with a supervisor located in Boise, Idaho. . General Job Duties:
